SINOPSIS Episódio 7:

 

Johnny (Hans Matheson) es el principal sospechoso del asesinato de Red Killen. La Ciudad de Jericho exige respuestas,  y desde que Charles (Daniel Rigby) se desentendiera de su hermano, es Coates (Clarke Peters), quién se ha encargado de encarcelar a Johnny provisionalmente, mientras esperan una sentencia. Annie, preocupada por el destino de Johnny, suplica desesperada a Charles, para que lo pongan en libertad, pero Charles, aún está resentido con él, después de saber lo que pasó entre Johnny e Isabella (Jeany Spark), y no piensa ceder.
Johnny, debe enfrentarse a la merecida justicia que se merece, dictaminada según Coates. Pero después del derrumbamiento de George (Sam Bottomley), bajo la presión de saber que un hombre ha sido acusado sin ser realmente el culpable, y con Coates, poniendo en tela de juicio a Johnny continuamente, Annie (Jessica Raine) está preocupada, pues sabe que no pasará mucho tiempo antes de que la verdad salga a la luz.
Mientras tanto, la comunidad de peones va en aumento, cada vez más bulliciosa, impulsada por la cerveza asignada por Coates. Se habla de llevar a un Juez de la Ciudad, pero los detractores de Johnny, no quieren saber nada. Un juez, sin lugar a dudas, no juzgaría a uno de los suyos, y Johnny es un Blackwood, después de todo, así que estaría libre de culpa. En su lugar, los Ciudadanos de Jericó, deben tomar la ley por sus propias manos. A Johnny,  se le dará una fecha para la audiencia, por el asesinato de Red Killen. Annie, está preocupada de que la audiencia de Johnny sea demasiada carga que soportar para George. Será más seguro para él, si permanece fuera de peligro junto a Lacy Polly (Lorena Ashbourne). Pero, ¿Cómo puede Annie estar segura de que George no ha revelado aún su terrible secreto?
En la taberna de la familia Capsticks, se ha comenzado un ensayo del proceso de juicio. Un sistema único de ley está evolucionando en Jericho. Coates, presenta los hechos delante de una multitud expectante y todo parece apuntar a la culpabilidad de Johnny. Parece que casi toda la taberna está reunida para presenciar la deliberación de su inocencia o culpabilidad. En medio de los disidentes, voces de apoyo a Johnny se levantan entre la multitud. Pero no son suficientes para convencer a Coates, o a la asamblea allí reunida.
Cuando Shay (Darren Morfitt), sugiere un impactante castigo por los supuestos hechos cometidos por Johnny, se hace dolorosamente evidente que la justicia en Jericho ha ganado fuerza. "Easter" (Elliot Barnes-Worrell), es testigo de los terribles acontecimientos, pero, ¿Será capaz de llegar a Charles a tiempo para contarle el veredicto?  Y Charles a su vez, ¿Será capaz de poner a un lado su dolor, para ayudar a salvar a su hermano?
Con la creciente presión en su punto culminante dentro de la taberna, Annie envía instrucciones a George, que deben ser llevadas a cabo fuera de la Ciudad. Pero cuando él ve, el posible destino que le espera a Johnny, regresa de nuevo a Jericho, dónde Martha (Amy James-Kelly), horrorizada por los acontecimientos que tienen lugar en la taberna, lo intercepta. George debe decir la verdad de lo sucedido a Red Killen.
Con esta información, hay una posibilidad de que pueda salvar a su madre y a su hermana de la persecución. Pero un giro inesperado de los acontecimientos, conduce a un resultado que deja un futuro incierto para muchas personas, para quienes Jericho y sus habitantes, lo son todo.

 

SYNOPSIS Episode 7:

 

Johnny (Hans Matheson) is the prime suspect for the murder of Red Killen.  Jericho wants answers and, since Charles (Daniel Rigby) has washed his hands of his brother, Coates (Clarke Peters) takes it upon himself to lock Johnny away pending the judgement of the law. Worried as to Johnny’s fate, Annie makes a desperate plea with Charles to have him released but Charles, still stinging from the knowledge that Johnny and Isabella (Jeany Speark) slept together, won’t relent.
Johnny must face the justice he deserves, delivered by Coates.  But with George (Sam Bottomley) buckling under the pressure of knowing the wrong man has been accused, and with Coates gunning for Johnny, Annie (Jessica Raine) worries it won’t be long before the truth is exposed.

Meanwhile, the navvy community grows increasingly rowdy, fuelled by beer laid on by Coates.  Talk is of bringing a magistrate to town, but Johnny’s detractors won’t hear of it.  A magistrate would surely let one of their own, and Johnny is a Blackwood after all, off the hook.  Instead, the citizens of Jericho must take the law into their own hands.  JOHNNY will be given a hearing for the murder of Red killen.  Annie worries that Johnny’s hearing will be too much for George to bear.  It will be safer if he stays with Lace Polly (Lorraine Ashbourne), out of harm’s way.  But can Annie be sure that he hasn’t already revealed his terrible secret?
In Capsticks’ Tavern, a trial of sorts is in progress. A unique system of law is evolving in Jericho.  Coates presents the facts, which appear to point to Johnny’s guilt in front an expectant crowd.  It seems nearly the whole tavern has gathered to witness the deliberation of Johnny’s innocence or guilt.  Amid the dissenters, voices of support for Johnny raise from the throng.  But they’re not enough to convince Coates or the gathered assembly.
When Shay (Darren Morfitt) suggests a shocking punishment for Johnny’s alleged deeds, it becomes painfully evident that Jericho justice has gained full force.  Easter (Elliot Barnes-Worrell) bears witness to the dreadful events, but will he be able to get to Charles in time to tell him, and will Charles be able to put his hurt aside to help save his brother?
With the pressure rising to fever pitch in the tavern, Annie sends instructions for George to be taken out of town.  But when he sees the possible fate awaiting Johnny, he escapes back to Jericho where Martha (Amy James-Kelly), horrified at the events unfolding in the tavern, intercepts him.  George must tell her the truth of what happened to Red Killen.
With this information, there’s a chance she can save her mother and her brother from persecution.  But an unexpected twist of events leads to an outcome that leaves the future uncertain for so many people to whom Jericho and its inhabitants means everything.
